Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground Italian sausage (mild or hot)
- 9oz Progresso Fire Roasted Tomato Sauce Recipe Starter pouch
- 2 cups uncooked penne pasta
- 1½ cups water
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 to 2 tbsp fresh basil, cut into thin strips
Directions:
- Cook sausage in a 10 inch skillet over medium-high heat 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink; drain.
- Stir in Fire Roasted Tomato Sauce, pasta, and water. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium.
- Simmer uncovered about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Remove from heat; sprinkle with cheese and fresh basil.
- Cover and let stand 2 to 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Serve immediately. Enjoy!
